Communication Techniques for Educators and Administrators

This course is designed to help educators and administrators develop effective interpersonal, group, and public communication skills. Strategies and techniques presented will include one-on- one interaction, organizational teamwork, strategies for conducting productive meetings, public presentation, and speaking styles. Emphasis is placed on communication with parents, teachers, the governing board, the superintendents, and the community.

Topics and Objectives

Classroom Communication

  • Examine areas of communication concerns in schools.

Ethical Behavior in the Classroom

  • Examine the relationship between ethics and the role of the teacher.
  • Analyze the process of ethical decision-making.
  • Identify ways to handle disruptive students.
