- Compare and contrast the variety of methods used to deliver diverse art education to secondary students.
Elements and Principles of Design
- Analyze artistic reproductions/artwork using the elements of art and principles of design.
Art Criticism
- Identify clear guidelines for perceiving, interpreting, and judging art.
Standards-Based Curriculum Design
- Analyze the National Art Education Progress (NAEP) Report for the visual arts and the state and national standards for art education as they apply to lesson planning.
- Identify the necessary components for a secondary art lesson plan based on state and national standards.
- Identify resources that can be used for lesson plans and content information.
Assessment and Management Techniques
- Analyze appropriate assessment techniques for various art activities.
- Identify organization and management techniques for the secondary art classroom.
Integration Techniques
- Examine methods for integrating the visual arts with other academic areas.
Art Museums as Resources
- Examine ways to engage students in a museum tour.
- Design a museum tour relevant to secondary art students.
