End-User Business Applications
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course reviews the common information system applications that an end-user would use in a typical business environment. Both individual productivity tools as well as enterprise tools are explored. The course relates the information system applications to material presented in other courses in the program.

Software Selection Guidelines, Methods, and Tools
- Identify and define software evaluation criteria.
- Differentiate the selection criteria between different classes of software products.
- Differentiate the selection criteria between different industries.
- Design a software selection criteria template.
- Construct a software selection process.
Individual Productivity
- Classify individual productivity software application.
- Identify and compare open source, shareware, and commercial individual productivity software application.
- Formulate the business requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend software applications in terms of meeting the business requirements.
Enterprise Productivity
- Examine existing Enterprise Application Implementation.
- Evaluate application implementation relative to organization requirements.
- Recommend future implementation enhancements.
Utilities and General Purpose Software
- Classify utility and general purpose applications software.
- Demonstrate the use of software evaluation techniques.
- Determine effectiveness of software implementation.
Application of Software Analysis and Selection
- Apply the analysis and selection criteria to a business organization.
- Determine the business requirements for application software selection.
- Demonstrate the alignment between business requirements and application software selection.
- Present a justification and plan for a business applications software implementation.
