Creating the e-Business
Course Description
This is an integrative course and the capstone for the MBA/e-Business. The outcome is for students to design an e-business while drawing upon skills learned from the previous e-business specialty courses. Students will complete a design for all elements of an e-business, whether creating an original business as an e-business or converting an existing business. An integral part of the design will be a convincing argument for why the business will be financially successful.

Strategic Planning vs. Business Planning
- Differentiate between strategic plans and business plans.
- Critically evaluate an existing business plan.
Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Analysis
- Formally evaluate an existing strategic plan.
- Analyze required stakeholder skill sets.
- Perform a stakeholder skill sets gap analysis.
Marketing and Sales Analysis
- Conduct competitive and phantom analyses.
- Predict market sizing and market segments.
- Create comprehensive sales and marketing plan.
Technology Analysis
- Assess the feasibility of technology alternatives.
- Recommend a technology solution.
Project Planning
- Create a risk mitigation and management plan.
- Evaluate existing business metrics.
- Design relevant business metrics.
- Create a project implementation plan.
- Evaluate human resources requirements.
Putting it all Together
- Develop a business plan to support organizational or entrepreneurial goals and objectives.
- Evaluate funding sources.
- Develop a financial model for the business.
