educational hunting tips

Do not inquire with too many universities. Most universities will mail and email you information, but the majority also have an enrollment counselor call you by phone in order to answer your questions. Receiving multiple calls from several different enrollment counselors can be overwhelming and serve to discourage you. We recommend inquiring with no more than three schools that match your program of interest.
Do not inquire on programs for which you do not yet academically qualify. Many times a university will disqualify you and not contact you if your education level does not match the education request. A common mistake is to inquire on a doctoral program when you only have a bachelor's degree or teacher certification. The common levels of education follow in this order: High School diploma or GED, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree, and doctorate degree.
Take the time to carefully consider all information supplied by a university. If you do not have time to speak to a counselor, consider making an appointment with them at a time more convenient to you. Remember, with online programs there is no building to walk in to and enroll on registration day. A counselor should never pressure you because they are not compensated by enrollments. However, they will help you make the right decision if you give them a moment to answer your questions.
